After selling my personal home on Sul Ross and leasing out my original office space on West Alabama, I moved into this new three-story townhouse located on Westgate Drive in Houston. Blending together my home and office was a no brainer in this ‘work-from-home’ era. To me, design is like breathing; there’s no separation between work and home, so it made sense to combine the two for my updated lifestyle.
The townhouse had a more contemporary feel, which was a fun backdrop to work with when making it my own. Architectural changes were made to form a conference room on the middle floor. We utilized elements such as grass shades, an animal print stair runner, seagrass rugs, slipcovers, and antiques to transition the look and create both a functional and beautiful space.

This approach is especially relevant in today's world, where remote work has become a norm, making it essential to have a designated yet inviting workspace.
By utilizing a variety of textures, colors, and furnishings, the design aims to foster productivity while maintaining a sense of comfort. Elements like natural light, ergonomic furniture, and personalized decor play a crucial role in achieving this balance, ensuring that the workspace enhances the overall living experience.
The Westgate Home Office project showcases several key design elements that contribute to its functionality and style. Notable features include the use of seagrass rugs for texture, an animal print stair runner for visual interest, and carefully curated antiques that add character and warmth to the space.
These elements are thoughtfully selected to create a cohesive look that is both inviting and conducive to productivity. The combination of modern and traditional pieces reflects the homeowner's personality while ensuring that the workspace remains practical for daily tasks.
